Ceramic Adhesive Mortar
Description
It is used for bonding ceramic, glazed tiles, glass mosaic and similar flooring materials to the wall and floor in the wet spaces indoor such as bath and kitchen and to the floor in case of outdoor.
• Allows heat, sound and fire insulation by a single product.
• It supports the budget with the reduced heating and cooling costs.
• Light-weighted, reducing load of the building.
• High level of water vapor permeability.
• High resistance against cracking.
• Safe and very easy to apply due to special additives it contains.
• Reduced consumption saves the budget.
Application Conditions
- Ambient temperature should be in the range of +5oC through +30°C.
- Avoid of application under the conditions of strong wind or direct sunlight.
- Never apply on surfaces, frozen, melting or likely to be exposed to frost hazard in 24 hours.
- Take care that the adhesive does not create film during application.
It is a cement-pumice based ceramic adhesive mortar that provides HEAT, SOUND and FIRE insulation thanks to the open-type cellular natural aggregates among its ingredients and it has a reduced displacement feature and improved water impermeability with an extended open time.
Application Surfaces
• Cement based plaster, gross concrete
• Gypsum block, gypsum board, gypsum plaster and concrete board (indoors)
• Cement-based screed, concrete flooring, old ceramic tile flooring
Application Characteristics
| Mixing time | 1 - 2 minutes |
| Mortar Resting time | 10 minutes |
| Time for correction | 25 minutes |
| traffic-free time | 30 hours |
| Usabily time for the ready mortar | 20 minutes |
| Application thickness | Maximum 3 - 10 mm |
Surface Preparation
Surface should be thoroughly sound, appropriate for bearing load, flat, clean and free of any grease and roughness. And the surface should be definitely made damp prior to application to be water-saturated in very hot and windy weather conditions. Heavy roughness and cavities on the surface should be repaired by use of No1 Ceramic Adhesive Mortar.
Application
- Add clean water of about 8.5 – 9.5 l to one 25-kg bag of No1 Ceramic Adhesive Mortar.
- Mix to get a homogenous consistency by using a trowel or slow-speed hand mixer. Allow the mortar for 10 minutes prior to application.
- Mix the adhesive mortar definitively for 1-2 minutes prior to application.
- Thickness of the mortar applied to the surface should be adjusted by use of a toothed steel trowel.
- Outer dimension of the trowel should be determined according to the size of the ceramic tile to be laid and smoothness of the application surface.

Recommendations
• No foreign materials (lime, cement, gypsum, etc.) should be added into the prepared mortar.
• It should not be applied on the floors with metal surfaces and exposed to heavy traffic (such as industrial sites, etc.)
• Do not apply it on the prefabricated and heated surfaces.
• Do not apply it for the wooding flooring, old-painted surfaces, swimming pools and existing ceramic flooring and gross concrete surfaces.
Application Tools
- Hand mixer, trowel, toothed steel trowel, rubber hammer.
Shelf Life
- 1 year from the manufacturing date in a moisture-free and dry environment. Container should be tightly closed when it is not used.
